What Is CloudLinux? Hosting Resource Isolation and Security

CloudLinux is an operating system designed for multi-tenant hosting environments. Its resource management tools help hosting providers isolate accounts and limit the impact of a single website on neighboring customers.

Account-level resource isolation

LVE technology can control CPU, memory, process and I/O usage for each hosting account. When a site reaches a configured limit, the effect is contained more predictably instead of consuming unrestricted server resources.

Why isolation matters

Traffic spikes, inefficient plugins, scheduled jobs and unwanted bots can create sudden load. Isolation improves stability, but it does not replace application optimization. Repeated limit warnings should be investigated.

Security benefits

CloudLinux includes technologies designed to separate users and reduce exposure between accounts. Website owners must still maintain applications, use strong credentials and remove abandoned plugins or scripts.

How to read resource usage

cPanel resource reports can show CPU, physical memory, entry process and I/O events. Compare the timing of limits with application logs and traffic data before upgrading a plan.
